Cookie Policy
Understanding how we use cookies and local storage to power and personalize your Creator Studio experience.
1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device, and local storage is a browser-based storage mechanism. We use both technologies to help us recognize you, remember your settings (like physics engine presets), manage secure user sessions, prevent abuse, and evaluate marketing referrals.
2. How We Use Cookies
Strictly necessary for security and core functionality. We store JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for session management, anti-CSRF tokens, and security challenge tokens (via Cloudflare Turnstile). These cannot be disabled.
Used to store your Studio preferences, such as default resolution, theme selection, custom spawner physics parameters, and simulation settings (rhythmic, escape modes). This data is cached in IndexedDB.
We do not load third-party client-side trackers (like Google Analytics or PostHog). Instead, we use local storage to record referral origins (`origin`) and device profiles (`device`) to optimize render capabilities and verify wishlist counts.
Associated with our payment provider (Paddle). Paddle uses local storage and cookies to manage purchase checkout variables, track affiliate referrals, and prevent billing fraud.
3. Managing Preferences & Consent Logs
You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser's security settings. Note that disabling essential local storage will impact the persistence of your simulation projects and login sessions.
When you accept cookies on our banner, we record your choice in local storage. If you are authenticated, we record a consent log containing your `consent_timestamp` and `consent_source` in our secure database to verify our regulatory compliance under GDPR.
