Connecting Your Social Accounts
A platform-by-platform walkthrough of connecting each of the eight networks, and what each one needs.
In This Tutorial
The One Flow You Learn Once
Connecting is identical on every platform. Open the Publish tab, click the platform chip, and press its connect button, for example Connect YouTube or Connect TikTok. You are taken to that platform to sign in and approve access, then returned to the Studio, where the card turns into a publishing form. You never type a password into the Studio, and connecting posts nothing by itself. It is safe to connect early and publish later.
- •Connecting grants a revocable access token. Disconnecting, or removing the app from the platform's own settings, cuts that access immediately.
YouTube and X
YouTube connects with the Google account that owns the channel and is the one platform available on every plan, including free, so it is the best first connection. X connects with your X account. The one rule to remember for X is that a caption containing a link is rejected before it posts, because link posts are far more expensive to deliver, so keep URLs out of the caption and add them in a reply.
- •On YouTube, new uploads default to Private, which is a safe way to review the upload before you switch it to Public.
TikTok
TikTok connects with your TikTok profile. When it is connected the form loads your current creator settings first, so the privacy levels, comment, Duet and Stitch options, and the maximum video length you see always match what your account allows. TikTok does not choose a privacy level for you: you have to pick one every time, and the form will not let you post until you do.
- →Privacy must be chosen explicitly (for example Public, Friends, Only me)
- →Your account's maximum length is enforced before upload
- →Vertical video is expected
Instagram, Facebook and Threads
These three are separate connections even though Instagram and Facebook are both Meta. Instagram uses the standalone Instagram login and needs a Business or Creator account, not a linked Facebook Page, so convert a personal account first if needed. Facebook publishes to a Page you manage, connected through Meta. Threads connects with your Threads account, in the same style as Instagram. Instagram transcodes video on its side before a Reel goes live, which can take a couple of minutes and is normal.
- •A personal Instagram account cannot publish through the API. Switching to a free Creator account in Instagram settings is enough and does not change how your profile looks.
Pinterest and Snapchat
Pinterest connects with your Pinterest account and posts video pins to a board you choose, so making a board for your simulations first keeps them tidy. Snapchat posts to Spotlight and needs a Business account with a Public Profile. Snapchat is strict about format and checks before uploading: the clip must be a vertical MP4, at least 540 by 960, and between 6 and 60 seconds, so a standard 9:16 export just needs to be the right length.
- →Pinterest: pins target a board you select
- →Snapchat Spotlight: vertical MP4, 540 x 960 or larger, 6 to 60 seconds
Disconnecting
To remove a connection, open the platform card in the Publish tab and press Disconnect, then confirm. This revokes our access and deletes the stored connection. Videos you already published stay live and are not affected. What stops is future publishing: any scheduled jobs or Autopilot runs on that platform will fail until you reconnect, so reconnect or remove those jobs if you disconnect.
- •If several jobs fail at once on one platform, the connection has almost certainly lapsed. Reconnect that platform and re-run them.
