How to Make a Ball Bounce to Any Song
Upload your own MIDI or audio, convert it, and map it to bounces using the Sound, MIDI and Audio Hub.

MIDI Versus Audio
The built-in library covers popular melodies, but most creators want a specific song. You have two routes. A MIDI file carries the actual note data, so the engine can queue exact pitches and lengths and every bounce lands on a real note of the piece. An audio file carries a finished waveform with no note data, so the Studio has to slice it instead. MIDI gives the cleaner result and is worth the extra minute it takes to find one.
- •Search for the song name plus "midi" to find a file. Prefer a single-instrument arrangement over a full multi-track one.
- •A dense multi-track MIDI will fire far more notes than you have bounces. Filter it down before you use it.
Uploading Through the Audio Hub
Open the Audio tab and expand Sound, MIDI and Audio Hub. The Media Library inside it handles every upload in one place: MIDI files, audio tracks and custom bounce sounds. Upload your file there and it appears in the Selected Song / MIDI dropdown under MIDI Files (Cloud). Uploads are stored against your account, so they are available on any device you sign in from and count toward your plan storage.
- •Uploads live in your cloud storage. Check the Cloud tab if you are near your plan limit.
- •Name files clearly before uploading. The dropdown shows the filename, so "song2final.mid" will haunt you.
Trimming a MIDI Down to a Hook
A full song is longer than a short-form clip needs and usually has sections that do not read as a melody. The MIDI Editor in the Audio Hub lets you cut the file down to the part people recognise. The MIDI Filter alongside it removes note ranges and tracks you do not want firing, which is how you turn a dense multi-track arrangement into a single clean line. Aim for a section that reads as a complete musical idea within your target clip length.
- •Cut to the hook, not the intro. Viewers should recognise the song within the first two seconds.
- •If the melody feels crowded, filter out the lowest track first. Bass lines rarely help a bounce mapping.
Converting an Audio Track
If you only have audio, the Audio Hub includes a converter that turns a track into something the bounce engine can play, plus a Track Compositor for stitching sections from several sources into one active track. The result will always be less precise than MIDI because the source has no note data. Budget time to check the result and adjust Min Bounce Spacing afterwards, since a converted track tends to produce a denser note queue than a hand-made MIDI.
- •Convert, then listen to the whole clip once before you record. Conversion artefacts are easier to hear than to see.
Choosing the Instrument
The sound each bounce makes is separate from the notes it plays. The Studio ships the full General MIDI instrument set, 140 voices covering pianos, mallets like Music Box and Glockenspiel, organs, guitars, basses, strings, brass, reeds, synth leads and pads, plus effects voices. Music Box and Glockenspiel are the two that read most clearly against physics impacts, because their short attack matches the moment of contact. Grand Piano is the safe default.
