Auto-Recharge

Keep your credit balance topped up automatically so renders never stop.

How auto-recharge works

Auto-recharge buys more credits for you when your balance runs low, using the card from your last credit purchase. It checks right after a render is charged, so the top-up happens while you still have some credits left, not when you hit zero.

The amount it buys each time is the same number of credits you bought when you turned it on. You choose the balance that triggers it.

Turning it on

  1. 1Open the buy panel (Buy credits on /developer, or the Studio's plans window).
  2. 2Choose how many credits to buy. This is also your future top-up size.
  3. 3If a Pay with choice is shown, pick the option that shows the auto-recharge tickbox. The tickbox only appears for the payment option that supports saved cards.
  4. 4Tick "Keep my balance topped up automatically".
  5. 5Set "When my balance drops below". The panel will not let you set it at or above the top-up size.
  6. 6Press Buy and complete checkout. Auto-recharge starts once that payment goes through.

Built-in limits

Auto-recharge never tops up more than 3 times in one day. If 3 top-up payments in a row fail, auto-recharge switches itself off and we email you, so your card is not tried again and again.

When auto-recharge is on, the Render API credits card in your account settings says so, with your top-up size and trigger.

Changing or stopping it

To change the trigger or top-up size, or to turn auto-recharge off and remove the saved card, contact support at /support. Credits already bought stay in your balance either way.
