Saving & Sharing Your Video
Where a finished video is saved on each device, how sharing works on phones, and the "Your video is ready" window.
Where the File Goes
Every finished video, local or cloud, is saved to your device by itself as soon as it is ready. Sharing is offered afterwards, never instead of saving, so you keep the file even if you do not post it right away.
| Device | Where the video is saved |
|---|---|
| Windows, Mac or Linux browser | Your browser's Downloads folder. |
| Android browser | Downloads. It also appears in your gallery. |
| iPhone or iPad browser | The Files app, in Downloads. |
Technical parameters
- Local exports are named ballengine-...-<date-time>.mp4. Cloud videos are named ballengine-cloud-<id>.mp4.
Saving on a Phone
Phone browsers drop a download started by a tab that is in the background. So if you switch apps or the screen locks while a video renders, the Studio waits and saves the file the moment you come back to the tab.
After the file is saved, a "Your video is ready" message appears with a Share button for a few seconds. Tap it to open your phone's share sheet with the video attached.
Tip
- On iPhone, open Files > Downloads to find the video, then use the share button there and choose Save Video to put it in Photos.
The "Your Video Is Ready" Window
After an export on a phone, or on any device whose browser had to encode video or sound in software, a short window appears once the file is saved. Rendering on your own device is not equally stable everywhere, so it offers a cloud render of the same project ("Render with Cloud", free if you still have your trial) or "My video looks good" to close it. Watch your video once before posting: a file can occasionally come out silent or black on some phones, and a cloud render fixes that.
Windows App Notifications
In the BallEngine Windows app, a finished render also shows a system notification, the progress appears on the app icon, and the computer is kept awake while a render runs.
