Playback, Shuffle One Part and Hiding the Interface
The play controls, Shuffle one part, hiding the interface for a clean view, and what happens while the preview loads.
The Play Controls
A small bar floats at the bottom of the recording area. On a computer it has Restart, Play/Pause and Randomize. On a phone it has five buttons that never move: Seed, Restart, Randomize (in the middle), Play/Pause and Menu. A button that does not apply to the current mode stays in place but is greyed out.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Restart | Starts the run again from the beginning with your current settings. It changes no setting. |
| Play / Pause | Starts or freezes the simulation. Shows a spinner while the preview is still loading. |
| Randomize | A fresh random version of the current mode, the same as Randomize in the top bar. |
| Seed (phone) | Searches for a run that finishes close to your clip length and plays it. |
| Menu (phone) | Everything the rail holds on a computer. See "Using the Studio on a Phone". |
Tip
- Press Space to play or pause, and press it twice quickly to restart.
Shuffle One Part
Under the recording area is a row of tiles: "Tap a part to randomize just that part of the video". Each tile rolls one part and leaves the rest alone, for example Mode settings, Music & sound, Ball colour, Ball style, Trails, Impact effects, Ball shape, Ball motion, Background, Arena & borders or Physics feel. 3D modes show their own tiles, such as Camera, Material, Lighting and Background.
The Pin tile switches the row around: tap a part to keep it the same when you press Randomize. The first four tiles (Mode settings, Music & sound, Ball colour, Ball style) are included with Creator and up; the other tiles and Pin with Pro and up. A tile above your plan shows the plan it needs.
When the Preview Is Loading
When you switch modes, restart a heavy scene or roll Randomize, the recording area may show a short loading veil. Play and Randomize wait until the scene is ready. After a roll, the run starts once the new track is ready to play, so the music and the bounces begin together.
Hiding the Interface
To judge the final look, hide everything around the frame. On a computer press Escape, or use Close at the top right of the settings. The rail, the settings, the side panels and the live stats disappear. Press Escape again to bring them back.
On a phone, tap Hide settings over the preview, or drag the settings sheet down. Tap Settings to bring it back.
Tip
- Hiding the interface never changes your video. Recordings only ever contain the frame.
Dragging Overlays on the Preview
Leaderboards, podiums, tickers, titles and the Like & Subscribe card can be moved directly on the preview. Open Engine > Overlay positions and turn on dragging on the preview, then drag an overlay where you want it. The handles are never recorded.
